Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style that combines R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. Avery Sunshine's work has led her from Broadway to European concerts and festivals and even to at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was born Denise White. She is originally from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her music career singing and playing the piano in church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her journey into music on Atlanta's R&B scene. She took on the role of primary piano player for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her voice and her music, invited Sunshine to sing in the Dreamgirls production at the Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was brought to the attention of all of the country during daily performances of four at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine followed up with being invited to sing for President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
